Sodexo follows the implementation of national plan to reduce the salt intake on a nationwide basis with objectives by 2020. Since 2011, the Sodexo “Less Salt” program provides and promotes food prepared with less salt and educates consumers about salt use and the potential health risks.

At Marseille in France, Sodexo’s strong commitment for the environment has led to major recognitions. In 2011, the Central Kitchen for the Education segment (50,000 meals prepared every day) has received triple certification: ISO 9001, 14001 and 22000.

Since 2008, Sodexo provides Facilities Management services to the IMPACT Arena, one of Asia’s largest Exhibition Centre. With annual savings of 2.5 million KWh, IMPACT is the first Thai firm and second in the world to receive the ISO 50001:2011 certification for efficient energy management.

In December 2011, Sodexo started to provide schools across the country with grow-your-own kitchen gardens. With 50 schools gardens today provided, the project will expand to benefit more than 200 schools within the next months.

Launched in January 2012, this program aims at informing consumers about the benefits of healthy food and physical exercise. It encourages them to participate to workshops such as fitness, dance, massages, healthy breakfasts or coaching. More than 600 sites will take advantage of the program.
