A focus on health and wellbeing has a positive impact on people every day.
At Sodexo, the quality of life services we deliver at client sites help to provide working and living environments that truly look after the people who occupy them, making sure that everything under the roof works to nourish and support them.
This might start with providing interesting and nutritious food options that help power people through their working or school day. Or it could lie in ensuring the buildings in which people live and work are safe, clean and foster a sense of community.
In the workplace, these positive experiences can aid staff morale and retention. In educational environments they can support learning.
Our own colleagues are integral to this and, as such, their health and wellbeing is also a priority, as is that of the people whose lives we touch in the communities where we live, work and serve.
Find out just some of the ways we support health and wellbeing below.
How good nutrition can help support health and wellbeing
We know that food plays an important role in a person's health and wellbeing. That's why we use science and nutritional evidence to develop menus that help the mind and body to work at their best.
Horticultural therapy to aid mental wellbeing
Spending time in nature has been found to help with mental health problems. Full Circle Farms in Sussex, where Sodexo Live! has 1.5 acres of regenerative farming, works with Garden Army volunteers, many of whom have been socially prescribed time on the farm to aid their mental wellbeing.
Rewarding our employees for being active through YuLife
We know that people who feel looked after and supported by their employer are more likely to stay with that employer.
The health and wellbeing of our colleagues is of paramount importance to us, so we introduced a benefit, YuLife, that helps look after our colleagues by encouraging them to be active in order to earn YuCoin, which can be exchanged for shopping vouchers.
The living spaces we provide at Worthy Down and Northumbria University provide an inclusive, supportive environment for the forces community and students who live there, which help to maintain their health and wellbeing.

Supporting the wellbeing of the whole force through soft FM
For service personnel on military bases, their lived experience is heavily influenced by the physical environment, the food they eat and what they do in their spare time. It defines their wellbeing as well as their satisfaction with the role, so its impact on operational capability cannot be overstated.
