No matter who you are, if you have a visible or invisible disability, we want to be accessible to you. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for the millions of people we serve around the world, and a very important part of that is ensuring that all of employees, vendors, clients, and stakeholders can connect with us regardless of how they are viewing this site.
Our goal is to ensure our intranet and externally facing website meet the new standards for accessibility. This means that anyone, anywhere, can access this information on any device and using any adaptive or assistance technology. As of January 1st, 2020, all content produced by our organization will meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, Level AA conformance.
An accessible website is better for everyone.
Our Commitments:
Across all of our communication mediums we take a consistent approach and always ensure readability and provide alternative means to access information in order to be compliant with our policy.
Site navigation
The site is designed to be navigable with a keyboard.
Design
The overall design has been adapted to be easily readable, taking into consideration: font size, paragraph width, font and background colors.
The website allows zooming to make the text bigger or smaller with your browser. You can use your keyboard ctrl and + to zoom in and ctrl and – to zoom out, or the options within your browser.
Media
Any Media can be paused by clicking on it. However, the website may display “decorative video”, which is just an ambient illustration of the content of the page on which they are displayed, and there is no sound.
Videos
All videos are required to have subtitles and / or a transcript.
Subtitles are provided each time there is a voice in a video.
Transcripts are provided each time there is written text on the video that is not vocalized.
Social Media videos commit to these same standards.
Images and Infographics
We always provide alternative text for non-background images, and a transcript to be read by screen readers for infographics.
Links
The text on each link or button is written to clearly explain where you will go after clicking the link, so that screen readers and people with other disabilities have more information than the standard “Read More” button text.
Third party providers
Some of the features are provided by third party providers. If possible, we ensure they follow our accessibility standards.
Feedback:
This is not a static effort; we must continually improve and evolve as technology and disability aids change. Please let us know how we’re doing, or if you need support from our team to access the information on our site, please contact us: digitalcom.group@sodexo.com
