Sir William Wells, Chair of the Reference Panel
Sir William has had a twin track career in the Private and Public Sectors over a period of 40 years.  He was involved as a Non-Executive Director in the NHS from 1968 to 2008 and in parallel had an active business career, initially in the property industry and latterly with a broad portfolio of Health, Financial and Property Companies.

Beverly Bryant, Director of Strategic Systems and Technology, NHS England
At NHS England, Beverley implements the new technology strategy in health and social care that will unleash the power of digital services to improve outcomes and experience for patients and the public. Previously, she was managing director of health at Capita, before which she worked for the Department of Health and the NHS, where she led the creation of NHS Choices in 2007.

Pam Chesters OBE, Chairman, Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust
Pamela spent nearly 20 years with BP, latterly as chief executive of Duckhams Oils, before moving across to the public sector. She currently chairs Anchor Trust and Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust. Prior to that she served for three years as Boris Johnson's Mayoral Advisor for Health and Families, a post she took up after eight years as chair of the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust.

Saffron Cordery, Director of Policy & Strategy, Foundation Trust Network
Saffron has extensive experience in policy development, influencing and communications and has worked in the healthcare sector since 2007. Her early career focused on influencing EU legislation and policy development, and she started working life in adult and community education.

Jim Easton, Managing Director, Healthcare, Care UK
Before joining Care UK, Jim was national director of improvement and efficiency at the Department of Health. He led the national Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) project which works across the NHS to improve both quality and efficiency. Jim has more than 30 years’ experience in the NHS and has also worked in primary care, mental health, healthcare commissioning and policy development.

Samantha Jones, Chief Executive Officer, West Hertfordshire
Samantha has a clinical background and brings substantial experience of the NHS, as well as senior leadership in the private health care sector. She was previously a Director of Care UK, the largest independent provider of healthcare services in the country, following her role as Chief Executive of Epsom and St Helier Hospitals NHS Trust. Samantha was appointed Chief Executive of West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust in February 2013.

John Parkes, Managing Director, Greater East Midlands CSU
John was appointed by the NHS Commissioning Board Authority as Managing Director of the Greater East Midlands (GM) Commissioning Support Unit.  GEM covers a population of 5 million and provides a full range of transactional and transformational services to its customers who are predominantly GPs. Since 2006 he has led commissioning organisations as a PCT Chief Executive and as Cluster Chief Executive of NHS Northamptonshire and NHS Milton Keynes.

Lisa Rodriguez CBE, Chief Executive, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
Lisa is a nurse by background. She has a BA in psychology and an MA in public sector management, both from the University of Sussex. Lisa is Vice Chair of Council of the University of Sussex and Senior Independent Director of the NHS Confederation. Lisa was awarded a CBE for her services to the NHS in the Queen’s 2012 Birthday Honours.

John Mallalieu, Managing Director Turning Point
John is the Managing Director of Health, Commercial Ventures and Employment within Turning Point. John has held senior roles in both the NHS and Private Sector Healthcare following a successful period in retail. John has held a number of Non-Executive roles including NHS Direct, the Chartered Management Institute and NHS Calderdale PCT.

Stephen O'Brien CBE, Chair, Barts Health NHS Trust
Stephen is Chairman of Barts Health NHS Trust and holds positions as Chair of International Health Partners, Vice President of Business in the Community, Director of UCL Partners and Trustee of the Mayor's Fund for London. Stephen was former Chairman, joint President and Founder Chief Executive of London First, the influential business campaign group which works to support and shape London's future.

Richard Beazley, Former NHS Trust Chair
Richard read Law at Exeter University and qualified as a solicitor in 1974. He worked for Mobil Oil Corporation as a lawyer (in Norway, Indonesia, Canada and the UK), an economist (in the USA), and as Chief Executive of Mobil's subsidiaries conducting upstream business in the FSU, the Middle East, and parts of Africa and Europe. From 2002-2010 he was Chairman of the East and North Herts NHS Trust. He is Vice Chairman of the Florence Nightingale Foundation.

David Dalton, Chief Executive, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust
David is Chief Executive at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and has a particular interest in improving patient safety and the quality of patient experience. He chairs a new network organisation of highly performing Foundation Trusts - NHS QUEST - and also leads the Greater Manchester Academic Health Science Network. Before his 11 year stint at Salford, he was CEO at The Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery NHS Trust.

Tim Higginson, Chief Executive, Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust
Tim is the Chief Executive of Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust, which merged with Lewisham Community Health Services in 2010. Previously he was Director of Strategy and Workforce at Guy's and St Thomas' Foundation Trust.  Tim worked at Guy's and St Thomas' for over 20 years where he had key roles in the establishment of the combined NHS Trust and the successful first wave application to be a Foundation Trust.

Caroline Clarke, Director of Finance, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust
Caroline is an experienced NHS Finance Director, having been Director of Finance at City & Hackney PCT, and the Homerton University Hospital Foundation Trust.  She has also held positions as an Associate Partner in KPMG's Health Strategy Team and Managing Director of NHS North Central London.

Dr Stephen Richards, Chief Executive, Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group
Stephen has been a GP in South Oxfordshire for 23 years. He has been through multiple NHS reconfigurations, moving from being PEC Chair of a small PCT to PEC Chair for the single Oxfordshire PCT in 2006. In 2009 he became one of the first PCT Medical Directors and with the arrival of the Health and Social Care bill was elected to be the lead for the single Oxfordshire consortium.

Professor David Colin-Thomé, GP and Former Director of Primary Care, NHS London
David is an Independent Health Care Consultant and Honorary Visiting Professor at Manchester Business School, Manchester University and at the School of Health, University of Durham. David started out as a GP in 1971 and was subsequently appointed as the National Director for Primary Care and Medical Adviser to Commissioning and System Management Directorate at the Department of Health.

Dr Howard Freeman, Associate Medical Director Primary Care, NHS London
Dr Howard Freeman has been a GP in South West London since 1981. He has formed an overarching partnership with six other practices and is now working collaboratively with other local practices as part of a Commissioning Group.  He is currently NHS South West London Joint Medical Director and Joint Associate Medical Director, Primary & Community Care for NHS London.  He is Chair of Merton Clinical Commissioning Group.

Dr Stephen Dunn, Director of Policy and Strategy, NHS Midlands and East
Dr Stephen Dunn has been leading the creation of a more commercial and competitive NHS. As a Senior Civil Servant in the Department of Health he was a principal architect of the flagship 'Foundation Trust' policy and Director of Policy on the Our Health, Our Care, Our Say white paper. He is the architect of the first competitive NHS merger and acquisition at Bedfordshire and Luton, and the innovative operating franchise at Hinchingbrooke.

Mike Farrar CBE, Chief Executive, NHS Confederation
Mike Farrar has held various chief executive positions at North West England SHA and West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire SHAs. Mike was head of Primary Care at the Department of Health, where he was responsible for establishing primary care groups, primary care trusts and Personal Medical Services (PMS). He also chaired the Strategic Health Authority Chief Executive's Group and the NHS Confederation GP Contract team that successfully negotiated the new General Medical Service contract.

Jake Arnold-Forster, Director, Carradale Limited
Jake is the former CEO of Dr Foster and is the founder and director of Carradale Consultancy working with a variety of organisations from both the private and public sector, linking them together to maximise each other's potential. Through this Jake has developed a broad network of chief executives, policy makers, civil servants, professionals and managers across the private, public and voluntary sector both in the UK and internationally.

Chris Brinsmead, Non-Executive Director and Independent Advisor
Chris has worked in the Pharmaceutical industry for thirty years, most recently as President of the ABPI, Chair of Astra Zeneca Pharma UK and President of AstraZeneca. He is currently Business Advisor to the Office of Life Sciences and Chairman of the UK Life Sciences Marketing Board.  Chris is also Chairman of Proteus Biomedical and Non Executive Director at United Drug plc, Domino Printing Services, The Wesleyan Assurance Society and Kinapse Ltd.

Rebecca George OBE, Lead Partner, Health Sector, Deloitte
Rebecca is responsible for all Deloitte's work with the Department of Health and the NHS. She has practical experience of the operational challenges public sector organisations face.  She is particularly interested in the intersection of disparate organisations or sectors (e.g. private and public in the delivery of services), legislative or regulatory changes which require new processes, organisations or mergers in the public sector, and how to increase flexibility and innovation in the public sector.

Stephen Hughes, Partner and Head of Health, Bevan Brittan
Stephen focuses on joint ventures between the public and private sector, outsourcing and social investment projects. Stephen was instrumental in developing the structure for a LIST (Local Integrated Services Trust): a public sector entity designed to be a conduit for social investment, facilitate integrated budgets between local commissioners and engage communities in co-production of new preventative interventions. He is also deputy Chair at North Bristol Trust.

Mike Parish, Chief Executive, Care UK
Mike Parish has been Chief Executive of Care UK since 2001, where he has overseen growth in revenue and profitability. He was appointed following a successful career with Excel PLC, where he was Director and worked in a range of sectors and activities across Europe, the Americas and Africa. Mike also serves as a Trustee and Non-Executive Director of the NHS Confederation and has previously chaired the NHS Partners Network.

Sir Nick Partridge, Chief Executive, Terrence Higgins Trust
Nick was appointed Chief Executive in 1991. He is Deputy Chair of the Expert Advisory Group on AIDS, which advises Ministers and the Chief Medical Officers. He is Deputy Chair of the UK Clinical Research Collaboration, which aims to establish the UK as a world leader in clinical research.  He was also Chair of INVOLVE, which promotes patient and public involvement in NHS research.

Dr Chai Patel CBE FRCP, Chair, HC-One
Chai has led and advised some of the largest UK care providers, including CareFirst, Westminster Health Care and the Priory Group. In 2007 he created Court Cavendish, a new health and social care consultancy, which in 2011 joined with NHP to form HC-One.  Chai, as Chairman, successfully lead the transfer of a third of former Southern Cross homes into the new organisation.

Simon Scrivens, Managing Director Healthcare, Sodexo
As Managing Director of Sodexo's health businesses in the UK, Simon covers areas as diverse as clinical support services, food and dietetics, and estates and hotel services. He is also Chairman of iPP, a joint venture with Labco focused on outsourcing Pathology services. Having started his career in life sciences, he spent most of his working life in consumer goods before joining Sodexo in 2007.

Tim Sheppard, UK Public Sector, Dell
Tim is the Director of Dell's UK Public Sector business with specific focus on IT Services. Prior to this he was the Director responsible for Perot Systems' European Healthcare business and held a number of roles including Chief Operating Officer for all Healthcare business outside the US. Tim held leadership roles in international engineering and logistics programmes and has worked with the UN and US Army in Somalia, Rwanda, Croatia and Bosnia.

Samantha Jones, Director, Care UK
Samantha joined Care UK in January 2011 from Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals Trust where she held the post of Chief Executive Officer. Previous to that, she was Director of Operations and acting Chief Executive at North Middlesex Hospita.  A paediatric and general nurse by background, Samantha joined the NHS Management Training Scheme in 1996 and on completion, carried out a number of operational general management roles before becoming a CEO in 2006.

Rhiannon Williams, Managing Director, Radiology Reporting Online
Rhiannon is Managing Director at Radiology Reporting Online, a PPP between University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Imaging Partners Online. The partnership provides teleradiology services to the NHS and private healthcare companies.  Rhiannon has extensive experience working with the NHS, in particular in relation to transactions between the NHS and private sector.  From 2009 - 2011, Rhiannon was responsible for the FESC framework at the Department of Health and was also head of the Strategic Commissioning Development Unit.

Cathrin Petty, Special Partner, Vitruvian Partners LLP
Cathrin Petty is a Special Partner of Vitruvian Partners LLP and formerly served as an outside director for the NHS (Strategic Health Authority for Greater London). Prior to this, between 2000 and 2010, Ms. Petty's career included Senior Associate and Research Analyst roles at Schroder Ventures and Schroders Investment Management. Cathrin holds an M.Sc. in Natural Sciencesfrom New Hall, Cambridge University and subsequently a post graduate Diploma in Management Studies from the Judge Institute, Cambridge.
