Local communities

97% of our employees are hired locally in the 80 countries where we operate. By establishing long-term partnerships, Sodexo seeks to play an active role in local community development.

Fairly traded certified products

We will increase the purchase of products sourced from fairly traded certified sources by 2015.

WORLDWIDE – With its “Aspretto” offer, implemented at almost 500 sites worldwide, Sodexo proposes 100% natural tea and coffee sourced from local markets accredited by international recognized fair trade organizations. In addition to the quality of the coffees and teas, the Aspretto offer is based on four core principles: diversity, health and well being, environmental protection and social responsibility. Sodexo donates part of the price of each cup of Aspretto coffee or tea – 8,000 tons of coffee purchased annually, more than one billion cups served – to STOP Hunger.  In 2010, to reinforce its Aspretto offer, Sodexo established partnerships with United Coffee and NUMI, leading sources of sustainable and fair-trade products.
