Physical Environment

The spaces where we work, learn, heal and live critically impact our perception of personal safety, comfort and ultimately our Quality of Life. In fact, researchers have pinpointed certain elements – from the lighting in a room to the air we breathe and the upkeep of our surrounding environment – as key factors of Quality of Life.

Further Researches

At Universities, the design and layout of a classroom, including the color of the walls and the position of the furniture, can have a 25 percent impact on a student’s academic performance. In the workspace, studies have shown that maintaining optimal room temperature reduces errors by 44 percent. Even basic improvements such as adding a plant or increasing the amount of natural light have been shown to lower blood pressure and increase staff well-being and productivity.

Our high standards in regards to maintenance and cleanliness translate into increased safety in the healthcare sector and on remote sites. In healthcare settings, adequate cleaning protocols can prevent 20 to 30 percent of deaths caused by hospital-acquired infections. On offshore platforms, promoting the understanding of proper safety protocol can reduce injury and even death.

A truly sound physical environment also requires sustainable elements. We make it a point to work with our clients to reduce the amount of waste they produce, shrink their carbon footprint and give preference to local, sustainable suppliers. With all of these benefits in mind, we tailor or services to meet the specific needs of each of our clients.
