Sodexo signed the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles
True to his long-standing personal commitments to the advancement of women and gender balance, Michel Landel, CEO of Sodexo, signed the CEO Statement of Support for the UN Women Empowerment Principles in June 2015. This act demonstrates his strong support for the overall goal of advancing and empowering women within organizations and society.
“To succeed in developing a more diverse and gender-balanced workforce, corporate leaders must be prepared to be strong and consistent role models, drive commitment and ensure accountability even in the face of initial resistance from their executives. I have found that it takes personal conviction and engagement to make progress. They have to do what they believe is right not just to improve an organization’s performance but to create a better world.” - Michel Landel.
By signing these principles, Sodexo strengthens its strong commitment to the advancement of women and gender balance and joins a growing community of more than 900 companies.
Launched on International Women’s Day in March 2010, the Women's Empowerment Principles are a set of Principles for business offering guidance on how to empower women in the workplace, marketplace and community. Subtitled Equality Means Business, the Principles emphasize the business case for corporate action to promote gender equality and women's empowerment and are informed by real-life business practices and input gathered from across the globe.

- Promote education, training and professional development for women
- Implement enterprise development, supply chain and marketing practices that empower women
- Promote equality through community initiatives and advocacy
