Supply Chain code of conduct

90% of Sodexo China’s suppliers have pledged to conduct business with the highest ethical, social and environmental practices as defined by our Supplier Code of Conduct. Engaging the Supply Chain is seen as a major step towards a sustainable production system. Supplier Standards signed by suppliers help companies ensure that satisfactory labor and environmental conditions are applied in service provision. Verification by the company itself or by independent third parties ensures the enforcement of the Standards by the supplier.

Local, seasonal or sustainably grown or raised products

In China, 90% of agricultural products grown and consumed locally. Through this commitment, we confirm our wish to contribute to sustainable agriculture, based on the preservation of natural resources and biodiversity, as well as respect for social justice and economic viability.

Fair-trade tangerines in support of Stop Hunger

Through our Sodexo Stop Hunger Program, we have partnered with a Charity organization called Feed the Hungary on their “Beyond the Tangerine Tree Project”, sourcing fair-trade tangerines from the farmers in the poorest provinces in China to improve their Quality of Life.

We established partnership with United Coffee and NUMI, leading sources of sustainable and fair-trade products in 2010 to reinforce our global hot beverage offer Aspretto.

Sustainable equipment and supplies

We will source sustainable equipment and supplies in all the countries where we operate by 2020. This process applies to cleaning products, disposables, office equipment and supplies as well as technical maintenance products.

In China, we’ve been dedicated to protecting the environment via sourcing high concentrated, less packaged and environment certified chemical detergent, using FSC-certified paper tissue and replacing food container with biodegradable ones.
