Nutrition programs
In barracks or theaters of operation, Sodexo’s logistical capabilities ensure that our cooks are always working under optimum conditions to serve well-balanced, high-energy meals.
Suitable calorie intake
Soldiers in the same battalion do not all perform the same kind of work. Some are very mobile and engage in strenuous physical effort, while others do jobs in offices. As a result, people’s calorie requirements may vary widely within the same organization. Aware of the problem of excess weight, our dietitians take the daily activity of each category of personnel into account to propose meals that meet their actual nutritional needs.
In the United States, Mess Hall 590 at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, South Carolina received the United States Marine Corps Hill Award for the quality of its foodservices managed by Sodexo.
In Afghanistan, Sodexo has been serving 150,000 meals each month to NATO forces since 2003. Every day at the Tora FOB (forward operational base), located above the village of Surobi, we provide 1,200 meals a day using plug & play-type 40 foot high cube containers while our water purification stations deliver 10,000 liters of drinking water.
In Sweden, Sodexo was selected to manage 21 armed forces restaurants serving 7,500 military personnel and 1,500 civilians on a daily basis. The satisfaction rate continues to climb and our client has achieved a 10 cost savings.
