As the world faces an unprecedented food crisis, emergency aid continues to save lives, and remains one of Stop Hunger’s key pillars of action. Over the past year, Stop Hunger has helped provide essential relief to over 788,000 beneficiaries facing emergency situations.

Together with our founding partner, Sodexo, we have launched a region-wide partnership with the European Food Banks Federation (FEBA). Building upon existing collaboration between the organisations at a European and local level, we have signed an agreement in line with their mutual goal of preventing food waste while encouraging food surplus donation across Europe.

Over the past weeks, we have seen solidarity, generosity and team spirit in action across the world as Servathon, Stop Hunger’s global giving initiative, got underway. Stop Hunger has been organizing its annual fundraising and food collection drive for over 25 years. Taking place between April and June, Servathon rallies volunteers from Sodexo, our funding partner, around a single cause: a hunger-free world.

Today, 30 June, marks the end of a four-month fundraising campaign led by Stop Hunger and our founding partner, Sodexo, to help the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) provide food aid to those displaced in and around Ukraine.

Nathalie Brindeau is Stop Hunger’s Europe director and also heads up the organization’s women empowerment projects.

The latest figures from the United Nations indicate that 12 million people are in need of emergency assistance. This figure includes 7.1 million internally displaced people and 4.9 million people who have crossed borders into neighbouring countries.
