In April, David Mulcahy, Sodexo Food Development & Innovation Director in the UK, traveled to the Gambia with a mission to better understand the challenges the local school cooks were facing.

In April, David Mulcahy, Sodexo Food Development & Innovation Director in the UK, traveled to the Gambia with a mission to better understand the challenges the local school cooks were facing. This was step one of a collaborative effort between Sodexo chefs, the World Food Programme (WFP), and Stop Hunger to bring extra culinary training and qualifications to the local school cooks. ​

During the week, David visited four schools in the country, meeting children, schoolmasters, Food Management Committees, WFP teams, and cooks. He is now working with a team of chefs and WFP teams, selecting the most useful content for a 3-tier training program to be tested this November in Senegal.​

This mission was conducted as part of the YEAH! program, bringing experts together to help make a difference to those who need it the most.​
