We have invested over the last four years US $ 5 million in programs to empower women who take action against hunger in their local communities, helping those most in need. Today, 32 effective and measurable initiatives are supported in 21 countries, in collaboration with Stop Hunger volunteers from the local teams of Sodexo, our founding partner.

A real challenge awaits us. The 2030 objective set by the UN to eliminate world hunger approaches. Are we willing to accept the unacceptable and consider the 821 million people who suffer from hunger as just another statistic? How can we respond to this emergency? In the field, of course, by mobilizing faster and going further!

The Stop Hunger YEAH Program (Your Engagement Against Hunger) is a skills-based volunteering program that allows Sodexo experts to bring their knowledge and expertise to the field, on local or international missions, from a few days to 2 weeks

Already recognized by the Women Stop Hunger award in 2018, the rooftop vegetable garden program in São Paulo ‘Horta na Laje’ just received the Arborus GEEIS-SDG (Gender Equality European & International Standard) award in New York on September 16.

Around its collaborators, the entire ecosystem of Sodexo –our founding partner– is mobilized against hunger to help the people most in need locally.

In the United States, France and the UK, as in the 53 countries where volunteers mobilize, many engage directly in actions on the ground.

Since February 2017, when South Sudan declared a state of famine, the United Nations has been working to mobilize the international community: "The world is facing the worst humanitarian crisis since the Second World War ... 34 million men, women and children are threatened by hunger and famine in these three countries.” Stop Hunger is working alongside the UN World Food Programme.

"Everything is possible for those who dream, dare, act and never give up." Outstanding women and exemplary volunteers were again honored this year. Eight Stop Hunger awards were presented, with financial support for the winners’ associations.
