Serving Seniors Communities in Crisis
#WeAreInThisTogether #sodexoproud
We are so proud of the Sodexo teams who have shown resilience, optimism, and innovation while continuing to serve their communities during this time. Here are some of their stories. Scroll down to see how you can help communities in need.
In-Room Deliveries with a Special Twist
Cheshire, CT - To help residents cope with social distancing, the Sodexo team at Elim Park converted our concierge desk to a call center taking room service orders from 6:30am to 7pm. We're delivering 3 meals a day & doing special events like Prime night with prime rib for the whole house. We've also set up a market to deliver groceries & supplies so Residents don't need to leave their apartments.
Themed Meals Bring Joy to Residents
Huntingdon Valley, PA - March Madness games may have been canceled, but that didn't stop the Sodexo team at ManorCare Huntingdon Valley from bringing some joy to residents who have been restricted to their rooms. Keith Patterson, one of our cooks, created specialty pizzas during what would have been March Madness. We may not have been able to watch basketball, but we could still enjoy the food!
A Pop-Up Employee Store to Support the Staff who Support the Residents
Oswego, NY - The coronavirus crisis is affecting not just residents but Senior Living staff too, who are working around the clock to keep residents safe. The dedicated employees at St. Luke Health Services were unable to get to stores before high demand items ran out, so our GM worked with the administration to create an employee store! What a great way to come together and help each other out.
A Little Love Goes a Long Way with Handwritten Notes
Bridgewater, VA - Sometimes little things can go a long way. This is especially true at a time when residents cannot leave their rooms or see family. Our Bridgewater Retirement Community team has started leaving handwritten notes for residents along with clean, folded laundry in their rooms each morning. Thank you Ashley, Nancy, Valarie and Laura, for brightening residents' days!
A Sweet Easter Surprise for Residents
Harrisonburg, VA - Our team at Mennonite Retirement Community baked, iced, and personalized 250 Easter cookies for each resident. Cookies were then organized and sorted by building, floor and apartment to be delivered. What a sweet treat during a beloved holiday.
